Welcome to Tropics Day Spa, Portsmouth’s long-standing and friendly retreat for gay and bisexual men. Perfectly positioned on the Marketway roundabout at the end of Commercial Road, we have been a dedicated cornerstone of the South Coast’s LGBTQ+ community for nearly 30 years, offering a warm and caring environment for relaxation and socialising.

Our facilities are designed to be a complete urban escape. We feature two traditional Swedish saunas with soft lighting and a powerful, high-humidity steam room maintained at a steady 40°C. A major highlight of the venue is our relaxation water suite, which includes a 2.4-metre indoor whirlpool spa and a unique open-air hot tub located on our private rooftop terrace.

The rooftop terrace is one of our standout features—filled with tropical plants, it offers a discreet and private space for nude sunbathing or simply enjoying the sea air. If you’re feeling active, there is a gym attached to the spa (accessible separately), while those looking for relaxation can book professional treatments in our ground-floor massage room. When it’s time to refuel, our coffee bar serves mocktails, snacks, and refreshments in a comfortable lounge area.

We host a variety of regular and pop-up events. Our most popular regular fixture is “Flight of Fancy” (for T-Girls and their admirers), held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month. With a focus on high standards of hygiene and a “no-attitude” policy, we provide everything from fresh towels to complimentary toiletries to ensure your visit is as stress-free as possible.
