The Roses of Elagabalus is a queer cocktail bar, restaurant and late-night venue on Kingsland Road in Dalston, East London. Designed as an intimate “queer clubhouse”, it combines cocktails, food, cabaret and club nights in a striking, theatrical setting close to Dalston Junction station.
The venue has a richly styled interior with dim lighting, vintage details, a small library and a cabaret room with a curved stage. Guests can enjoy cocktails from a changing menu, alongside rotating chef residencies and set menus for its regular Dinner and a Show evenings.
Live entertainment is central to the experience. The programme includes drag and cabaret performances, live piano, jazz, queer life drawing, pop-ups, electronic music and themed social nights. Weekend events often continue downstairs in the club space, where DJs play into the early hours.
The Roses of Elagabalus is open from 6pm until late, Tuesday to Saturday, with later closing times on Fridays and Saturdays. It is closed on Sundays and Mondays. Because dinner shows, club nights and special events can have different start times, menus and ticket arrangements, visitors should check the latest listings before travelling.
For a more glamorous and intimate LGBTQ+ night out in East London, The Roses of Elagabalus offers cocktails, food, performance and dancing in one of Dalston’s most distinctive queer spaces.
Our venue is designed to be a sensory experience. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by an aesthetic inspired by classical antiquity reimagined through a queer, contemporary lens—think velvet, gold accents, and, of course, a permanent bloom of roses.
Whether you’re joining us for a curated cocktail or a bottle of fine wine, our bar is a place where you can indulge in the finer things while surrounded by your chosen family.
While we appreciate the finer details, we are a party at heart. Our nights are defined by an eclectic mix of high-concept performance art, avant-garde drag, and DJ sets that span from disco to underground house. We pride ourselves on being a space where the radical meets the refined.
At The Roses Of Elagabalus, we invite you to leave the grey streets behind and step into a world of eternal summer, where every guest is treated like royalty and self-expression is the ultimate law.

Poor for large groups... not safe if you're in a wheelchair either. Lots of shimmying to get around, with uncomfortable seating. Also not a great place if you're not white im afraid
100/100, divine and delicious. The ambiance, staff and food were exceptional, not to mention the cocktails which knocked our heads off in the most delightful way. A splendid evening all round. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Fantastic bar 🖤
although quite small, this is a cute venue!! really liked this place
Truly my favourite queer bar in London right now. The staff is incredible so friendly and welcoming. Food and drinks amazing. The aesthetic are unreal. Every time I come to the Roses I just know I’m gonna have a blast.
