The Rainbow Project is Northern Ireland’s foremost LGBTQIA+ charity, based in Belfast and providing health, wellbeing and support services for LGBTQIA+ people and their families. Founded in 1994, the organisation has grown into one of the region’s most important community support bodies, with services focused on counselling, sexual health, advocacy and peer support.

The Rainbow Project offers a wide range of practical and emotional support, including counselling, youth support, advice for parents and family members, sexual health testing, free safer sex packs and help for people affected by hate crime, domestic abuse, homelessness, asylum issues and discrimination. It also runs social and peer groups, trans and non-binary support, listening ear sessions and community campaigns, helping people stay connected as well as supported. The Belfast centre is fully wheelchair accessible and located in the city centre, making it easier for people to reach.
