Retro Bar, London is tucked away down a quiet alleyway near Charing Cross. We are a quirky, independent-spirited pub that celebrates the alternative side of the LGBTQ+ community. We’re all about great music, iconic icons on the walls, and a rock-and-roll attitude that welcomes everyone.
Our venue is famous for its decor—a shrine to legendary musicians and pop culture stars—and its incredible jukebox, which is widely considered one of the best in the city.
Whether you’re into 80s new wave, classic rock, or indie anthems, the soundtrack here is always authentic. It’s the perfect place for those who prefer a laid-back, “old school” pub vibe where the focus is on good conversation and even better tunes.
Spread across two floors, we offer plenty of character. Our ground floor is the heart of the social action, while the upstairs bar provides a cosy retreat for a quieter drink or catching one of our legendary quiz nights.
We host a diverse crowd, from music lovers to long-time regulars, ensuring a friendly and inclusive atmosphere every night of the week. At Retro Bar, we don’t follow trends—we just provide a home for the people who make Soho special.

Great bar for a 1st date went well btw x
The retro atmosphere is absolutely amazing! Tucked away in an alley, it has a really charming vibe. The upstairs is quiet and perfect for chatting, and the staff are incredibly friendly. However, you might have to wait for a table on weekends when it gets crowded, but the drinks are reasonably priced. Highly recommended!
Quite quiet
