If you are looking for the dedicated heart of health and wellbeing for the queer community, the LGBTQ+ Project is your essential destination. Based in Norwich but serving the entire county, we are Norfolk and Waveney’s only dedicated LGBTQ+ health and wellbeing service provider. We pride ourselves on being a professional, peer-led sanctuary that offers a lifeline of support, education, and visibility to people of all ages.

Support for Every Story

Our work is designed to tackle social isolation and empower individuals to lead happy, authentic lives. We offer a comprehensive range of services tailored to the unique needs of our community:

• One-to-One Support: We provide personalised, compassionate sessions for those navigating their identity, coming out, or facing mental health challenges. Last year, 100% of those we supported reported an increase in confidence.
• Youth Services (BYTS): Our “BLAH” and “BYTS” youth groups offer a safe, supervised space for young people (aged 13–18 and under 13) to meet, make friends, and find support during their formative years.
• Specialised Drop-ins: From “VeryUs” (for trans-masculine and non-binary people) to “Crafty Queers” in West Norfolk, we run a diverse array of social groups where shared experience is the foundation of friendship.
• Counselling: We manage a directory of low-cost, queer-affirming counsellors who understand the specific nuances of LGBTQ+ lives without requiring you to “educate” your therapist.

Educating with Pride

At the LGBTQ+ Project, we believe that change happens through education. We are the architects of the “Educating with Pride” award, a specialised training program that helps schools and workplaces across Norfolk achieve a high standard of care and inclusion. By training the next generation of allies and professionals, we are ensuring that Norfolk is not just a place where we exist, but a place where we thrive.
