CC Blooms in Edinburgh is the city’s original LGBTQ+ bar, restaurant and nightclub, and we are proud to have been part of the capital’s nightlife since 1994. Located at 23–24 Greenside Place, right beside the Edinburgh Playhouse and close to the top of Leith Walk, we sit in the heart of the action and welcome everyone through our doors.
We are open seven nights a week until 3am, giving guests a place to carry the night on long after most of the city has gone home. Upstairs, the bar and dance floor create a lively space for drinks, dancing and late-night energy, while the venue as a whole offers a mix of relaxed socialising and full-on party atmosphere.
Our weekly programme includes drag cabaret Sundays, DJ nights every evening and themed events throughout the year. We also host ticketed special events and encourage guests to keep an eye on our What’s On page for the latest line-up.
Cabaret is at the heart of what we do, and our Sunday show, Disgraceful, has become one of the best-known regular nights at CC Blooms. We have long supported drag and live performance in Edinburgh, and the venue has been a launchpad for some of Scotland’s biggest drag stars, including Lawrence Chaney.
Our cabaret nights bring together humour, talent, music and community in a way that feels unmistakably CC Blooms. Whether guests come for a full show, a drink before the theatre or a late-night stop after dinner, the performances help make the venue one of the city’s most recognisable queer spaces.
We are more than a nightclub. CC Blooms also serves as a bar and restaurant, offering cocktails, international beers and food throughout the day and evening. During the Fringe and other busy periods, our kitchen stays open for guests who want to combine a meal with a show or a night out.
The venue’s layout gives people options, whether they want a quieter drink, a meal or a busier late-night experience downstairs. That flexibility is part of what makes CC Blooms feel welcoming to such a wide mix of visitors.
We have always aimed to be more than just a venue. CC Blooms is a place where Edinburgh’s LGBTQ+ community, allies, visitors and performers can come together and feel at home. We are proud of our history, proud of the artists we support and proud to remain a visible part of the city’s queer culture.
Our role in Edinburgh nightlife is about visibility as much as entertainment. By combining cabaret, dance, food and community, we offer a space where people can celebrate who they are and enjoy the city on their own terms.
Whether you are joining us for a Sunday cabaret, an evening of dancing, a Fringe show or a relaxed drink with friends, we look forward to welcoming you to CC Blooms. We are open late, we keep the atmosphere lively and we always aim to make every guest feel part of the room.
The place is very nice, the atmosphere at 5:30 pm is quite calm and peaceful, which is much appreciated after visiting Edinburgh. The cocktails and French wine were excellent. I also really appreciated not having to book three months in advance. The service is lovely, with a special mention for Ben, but the whole team is very professional and attentive. Thank you to them.
This place seriously needs to either a) hire queer bouncers or b) require vigorous anti-discrimination training. Absolutely shocking the “random” way the bouncers deemed my gender-ambiguous presenting friend “too drunk” when he had the exact same amount as my friend and I. The power trip they get from this denial is quite apparent. If C’Cs wants to keep their clientele they need to hire appropriate bouncers or deliver the required training. They’re at risk of becoming a straight club at this point…
Gorgeous in here. London prices 💁🏽♂️
Great place for a quiet drink during the day and great atmosphere in the evening... Buzzing...
